My guitar playing and teaching experience

I have been both playing and teaching the guitar for many years now and have gigged in various folk, jazz and rock bands. If in the last few years you have frequented either the Cambridge Folk Club or the Mayflower Folk Club (also based in Cambridge) then you may have heard me in performance as one half of the acoustic instrumental folk duo 'Lost for Words'.

Lost for Words

In 'Lost for Words' I played acoustic guitar, mandolin, mandola, bouzouki and cittern (a 16th century musical instrument resembling a guitar with a pear-shaped soundbox and wire strings), accompanied by Mike Nacey who also played acoustic guitar, mandolin, mandola, bouzouki and cittern.

We played a mixture of original and traditional pieces in styles that included Celtic, Eastern European and Mediterranean folk music.
